Malachi Schoenherr of Sheldon, a sophomore, won the boys 3,000 meters in a school record time of 8:17.20 on Saturday at the Sherwood Need For Speed Classic. Schoenherr broke Tracy Garrison's 42-year-old sophomore class state record.
